Crash Course on Enlargement and the Eastern Partnership

Our Young European Diplomats recently had the incredible opportunity to join an exclusive online "Crash Course on Enlargement and the Eastern Partnership," hosted by the Young European Ambassadors! During this comprehensive session, our students dove deep into the complex mechanisms of European integration, learning the rigorous step-by-step process a country must undergo to become an EU Member State. Beyond the enlargement process, the group explored the core goals of the Eastern Partnership—such as promoting democratic governance, mobility, and economic development—and unpacked the distinct roles of key EU institutions. To bring these concepts to life, the YEAs presented a real-world case study on Georgia’s ongoing path to EU membership, highlighting both the historic milestones achieved and the vital democratic reforms still needed. It was an inspiring deep-dive into how the European Union grows and connects with its neighbors!
